Who it's for
Single-site SMEs, multi-site retailers, and half-hourly / I&C customers.
Where it goes wrong
Wrong settlement class
Your Line Loss Factor (LLF) or Meter Time Switch (MTC) may not match how you actually consume, landing you on a pricier profile.
Capacity set too high
Half-hourly sites pay Excess Capacity charges every month for kVA they no longer draw — a common, silent leak.
Triad-blind billing
Some HH invoices mis-apply capacity and DUoS recovery, inflating the pass-through line.
Our approach
Before we tender, we check the meter: settlement class, capacity, and a 12-month half-hourly read for HH sites. Then we run a like-for-like tender — unit rate, standing charge, pass-through separated.
What to have ready
- Site postcode
- Annual kWh or spend
- Contract end date
- MPAN (or upload a bill)
What we compare on your business electricity contract
We benchmark unit rate (p/kWh), standing charge (p/day) and pass-through charges separately across more than 30 suppliers, so you see the true cost per kWh rather than a headline rate that hides extras. Contracts compared include fixed, flexible and blended tariffs, with terms from 12 to 60 months.
How we keep business electricity prices transparent
- Fixed unit rate and standing charge shown side by side
- Pass-through components (DUoS, TNUoS, capacity) broken out
- Commission disclosed separately, never hidden in the rate
- Like-for-like terms so quotes from different suppliers are directly comparable
Business electricity by region
Network charges vary by region, so the cheapest supplier in London is rarely the cheapest in Scotland or the South West. We model your local distribution area (DNO region) when we tender, reflecting genuine regional cost differences across England, Scotland and Wales rather than applying a national average.
When should a business switch electricity supplier?
The best window to switch is 120 to 180 days before your contract ends. Earlier tends to capture more competitive rates; later risks rolling onto out-of-contract (deemed) rates that can be two to three times higher. We track your renewal window and tender at the right time for your site.
Half-hourly and larger industrial electricity
For profiled half-hourly meters and larger industrial and commercial loads, we model capacity charges, DUoS recovery and pass-through properly. We review your kVA setting, annual capacity and 12-month half-hourly profile before pricing, so the comparison is genuinely like-for-like.
